The era of smartphones is rapidly changing people – we are becoming one hundred percent visuals. It’s easy to explain, because there is usually not enough time to read long texts, but looking at bright images is another matter. That is why there has been a great demand for professional operators lately. At the same time, real pros do not just have to have technical tools – you need the ability to see beauty. This is exactly what Oleksiy Chirko thinks – a man who looks at the world through a lens
“I started doing amateur filming from school, from the ninth grade, and if we talk about the professional level – from 2015-2016. It was a job on SK1 TV channel, more professional level. As for the photo, I am “self-taught”: I watched the creation process and wanted to repeat something I saw. I looked at old photos of the city, pictures of nature, people, books… It was not possible to have a cool camera – everything was filmed on the phone. All these were attempts until in 2013 I met Leonid Shevchuk, who gave his opinion on my photos. It motivated me, because he inadvertently gave me the magic kick that prompted me to take filming seriously.”

“A team of people consisting of Artem Tsivko, Yulia Parukh, Dima Titenko trained and motivated me. These are the three people who learned to work with the camera, helped to master the first skills of video recording. I have been doing this professionally for over six years. It’s hard to say how many times a year of filming, because I never counted them.”
“On one of the shootings I managed to work with an interesting hero – Mykhailo Veselsky. He built the Radovel Medical School and Biotechnology Lyceum. He may not be a well-known figure to the general public, but he has given me good motivation to continue on my chosen path and to understand that anything is possible in the world. The main thing: believe in yourself and work on the desired result.”

“I don’t like working on reportage filming. Sometimes you are surrounded by nonsense, and you do not understand what to do. That’s why I prefer stage shooting – advertising, music videos. But I shoot everything: landscapes, portraits and much more. For example, last year I participated in the filming of the series “Mad Neighbors”, which is already starting to air, filmed Nastya Kamensky and Jerry Heil.”
“Apart from camera work, I enjoy traveling. Whenever possible, I travel to Ukraine and contemplate the beautiful landscapes of my native land. I love fire shows, it’s a special kind of pleasure for me. Until you set fire to the stage property once, you won’t enjoy yourself. “(Laughs)
“The advantage of camera work is communication with people. This is especially felt with creative people who have a non-standard outlook on life. Another advantage – attending events where you usually see only a good picture, and you can also see the “behind the scenes” – the event can be seen from completely different angles. The operator can see things and places where ordinary people are simply not allowed. As for the disadvantages of work, you do not always have time to rest, and sometimes you have to work to exhaustion.”

“As paradoxical as it may sound, physically the world changes when you look at it through a camera lens… Imagine the human eye is a 58 mm lens. When a wide-angle lens is taken, the brains begin to ask, “What’s going on? Why do I see more information than I need? ” Although in reality the world remains the same, the viewer sees the beautiful picture that the cameraman makes.”
“All people are beautiful, no matter what. It just depends on the light, the camera or the angle. There are different situations in life: today a person is beautiful, but tomorrow… What is beauty? Difficult to answer.”

“If I see something for the first time, I pay attention to details that, at first glance, are not obvious at all. For example, a shade in the logo. Mostly no one pays attention to it. When I look at people, I pay attention to my eyes, although I can’t explain why. For me, beauty is hidden in the details.”
“Probably all cameramen dream of winning an Oscar, the most important award is recognition… Most creative people associated with cinema would be pleased to see this award on their shelves.”
“Curiosities on filming are everyday stories. If we forget something, “inventions” begin with scotch tape and things that come in handy. The whole film industry is on the sticky tape – it’s a reality.”

“My dreams are quite large, but I will not talk about them, I will not tell. After all, happiness loves silence. “
