All the professions are important and useful. But there is one among them which is called to awaken love for the world, for life, for any cause. It’s a teacher’s profession. Teachers are the inspiration for the future astronauts, stage stars, political and public leaders, doctors, seamen, military … They say that educators are engineers of human souls. And what happens in the soul of the teacher himself? Where does he get the energy, the inspiration, the strength to give daily a part of himself, his heart to children?
This secret was tried to be revealed at the VI All-Ukrainian Festival «Happy to be a Teacher», the festival of development and self-improvement of teachers, parents, psychologists, tutors, coaches, all who work with children and adults of all ages. Each workshop of the festival was aimed at discovering the most intimate pages of the teacher’s soul, its development, improvement and support in the most difficult, but also the most interesting activity. They talked about stress resistance, kinesiology, emotions, successful personal life, financial literacy, physical activity, aromatherapy in teacher’s activity, self-knowledge, balance and more. Each trainer sought not only to reveal the secrets of his topic, but also to show another way to develop the personality of the teacher. Their thoughts on their chosen profession shared with us the participants of this inspiring activity.
Maryna Todoruk, English teacher: «I am happy to be a teacher, because daily communication with children, interacting with them and believing that you can be useful to them is a great pleasure. I believe that the profession of the teacher is given by God, and all others – from the teacher. It is a very important mission for us, Teachers, not only to teach, but also to help the student to choose the right profession to which the human soul lies. How many today do we know of people who do not work by vocation. Such work is not satisfying, it even destroys a person. That is why it is the responsibility of the teacher to disclose the student’s personality so that he or she understands the vital need for a particular activity».
Maryana Danylyuk, Law Teacher: «To be a teacher is the choice of the heart, the call of the soul! I can not imagine my life without my favorite pedagogical activity. I want to convey to students all their knowledge and teach them to skillfully apply everything they know in life. Every day, when I return from work, I feel the inspiration and enthusiasm my students gave me; the desire to work every time increases, there is a constant need to improve and make their lessons better, more modern, more useful for the students. That is why I am here today. Indeed, I am happy to be a teacher!»
Olga Gilyarska, English teacher: «I love the teacher’s profession because there is constant communication with children, that not only do I teach, but I also learn from children, because in some ways they are more «advanced». My students inspire me and help me move, be modern. In addition, I can always see the result of my work, which is always a good incentive for me. Yes, today a teacher does not simply pass on information, it has a much more responsible mission: to teach the student to acquire the necessary knowledge on his own, because the modern world is full of information, and one must learn to adequately perceive, filter and use it. This is a great responsibility of the Teacher».
Oksana Kolomiets, elementary school teacher: «I love working with children. They add energy, motivate them to read more, learn something new, help to be young forever! Do not believe it, but I am satisfied with the salary! I understand well that the teacher is a sample. This profession enables the teacher to understand what he or she knows and what is unknown. The profession of a teacher is not to be afraid of not knowing something, because in any case, you will have to learn / find / study / tell. A good teacher is like Wikipedia. The level of its steepness is determined by each student individually. Personally, I go to school with pleasure. I love my job and I am happy to have chosen this profession!»
Iryna Pushkaruk, teacher of Ukrainian language and literature: «I love children, I love to work with them, to find the necessary key-words for each child, because all students are very different. Moreover, for the teacher, working with young people is like an elixir of youth. Eternal movement forward. Youth helps the teacher keep up with the times, and also encourages self-development. Can’t you love an inspiring profession? Of course, the fruits of teaching are immediately discernible, but how nice to see them through the years in the adult conscious eyes of former students. To be a teacher is happiness!»
From the Zhytomyr.Travel editorial We sincerely congratulate all the teachers who are entrusted with the mission. May the Universe give you much Love!
