In order to see a living legend, you do not have to go to distant lands. We have our legendary places, people and even legendary trees. An amazing story from the life of the family of the aristocrats Groholski’s impresses with his deep wisdom, and the personification of parental love – a centuries-old oak – still stands as a reminder of the need to value the family and parents
Today in Krasivka, a small village in Zhytomyr, there are often guests. They come to admire Polissya landscapes and listen to old tales. They love the ancient legend – the echo of the lives of former owners of the lands of Krasnoyarsk. Count Count Jan Grokholskyi once reigned in Zhytomyr region. In honor of the birth of his eldest son, Adolf, he landed an oak forest, which grew in Krasivka. The happy father gave his son lands, forests and even a castle in the neighboring village of Chervone, so that only the life of the young Grokholsky was well developed. I ran for years, and the boy became a good guy. That’s why once Jan Adolph had to kidnap a relative of the Polish king Stanislaw Poniatowski to give it to his younger son, Ignacy. The legend says that this guy’s funny order was fulfilled, although he allegedly kidnapped Otilius for his younger brother, but fell in love with himself and without a fatherly blessing married a girl. Only from the young did not live: their marriage was unlucky and soon disintegrated. Had Adolph’s married a second time, but again, trouble! The wife of a young count could not give him an heir, and soon the old count goes to the ancestors. Since then, the only solace for the disappointing Adolphus is the Arab rabbits, whose breeding he was engaged in. But nothing brings comfort to him, and Adolph himself, and his two wives, dies later. Only the oak forest, planted by the old count, stands at all disagreements. Years passed … During the German occupation of the trees cut down, only one oak survived, which contemplates the history of the Grokholski’s family for almost two hundred years. He is still standing, and people call his Parents. “He was planted by Jan Grokholskyi, full of happiness and love from the birth of his son. It was hoped that later on the property of the child will pass the forest, the surrounding land, which will be a guarantee of prosperity and the continuation of a noble family. However, it was not so destined: there is nothing more valuable in the world than parental love, and there is no strongest sin to disobey their parents. The worst thing that can happen is to lose their love “, – says Yurii Balyuk, director of Krasiv school. Since then, there is a legend in Krasiv, which is already known far beyond the boundaries of the village: if the parents cling to a tree and three times ask for a happy luck for the child in the oak, then the desire will certainly come true, because the Fatherly’s Oak lives and brightens the power of love. Zhytomyr Region is the land of beautiful people who are proud of their homeland, keep their legends and tell their guests. And everyone who visited Krasiv takes away the memory of a wise legend …
