The simplest and most unnoticeable things usually make your mood. Legendary Coco Chanel once said that it’s better to have wrinkle on a face than a run on tights. By the way, the socks which you wear every day are described in mega-cool release of American Vogue!

In 2016 observer of American Vogue Lina Satenstein wrote about the burst of interest toward Ukrainian brands. One of those which have been mentioned she recalled socks “Made in the region of Zhytomyr, Ukraine”.

In 2016 in American Vogue has been written about the burst of interest towards Ukrainian brands, among which are socks “Made in the region of Zhytomyr, Ukraine”

Zhytomyr Hosiery factory which currently exports wide range of products is one of the most powerful factories in its sphere.
History, traditions and professionalism of those who produce quality items, has made Zhytomyr hosiery goods so popular that the fame has reached a lot of foreign countries so far. There is also a strong bond with olden times.

Are you sure that Zhytomyr has no connection to Ancient Rome? You’re wrong, they have couple of things in common: stockings. In old times on ancient Roman murals you could see honorable patricians, whose feet were rolled with white bandage similar to stockings. Back in 750 B.C., first French Merovingian kings wore spats from fabrics and stockings which were cut out from cloth and sewed from the back. Everything was fastened with items of clothing with the help of leather belts. Even the Charlemagne who was against luxury wore stockings.

Are you sure that Zhytomyr has no connection to Ancient Rome?

We owe romantic heartbreak for appearing the first interweaving machine. Poor curate William Li from Calverton who fell in love with an always weaving girl. Strong disgust towards weaving and desire to keep in touch with beloved one forced him to create an invention in 1589 – wooden tool where you could make stockings.
The first to wear them was a man – Henry the Eighth. Within 20 years it was made by a woman – Queen Elizabeth. England, France and then all other countries acquired new branch and ready-made goods were much needed by desired people.
Both now and always stockings and socks were needed. Zhytomyr. Hosiery Factory’s story began in 1935 and the factory has started to produce its goods on a basis of former Tiber’s studs-shoetree factory’s workplace built in 1874. Firstly only 183 people were employed there, but within 3 years almost 1000 workers were a part of factory’s life. The factory has overcome Fritz’s occupation, transition to market economy and a lot of other historical changes.
Working on three shifts, people were exporting parts of goods. The most important part of this factory is employees! Especially those ones who treat the factory as a part of life: they were working and relaxing together; building infrastructure: daily income workers could spend on constructing kindergartens.
People know how to respect and take care of each other here. Only Zhytomyr plants make socks for little ones – size of 0.5! They’ve made exclusive orders, for example for the tallest Ukrainian citizen, Leonid Stadnyk.
Now it is clear why exactly Zhytomyr socks were and still remain part and parcel or my and your life. By the way, dear ladies, it’s the greatest present for your lovely one!
