But we have all the prerequisites for becoming a city that will continue the glorious traditions of a distinctive and highly professional Ukrainian ballet. That’s the end of the International Choreographic Assembly, which became a bridge from the past to the future. Our little artists who love the art of dance and will definitely become outstanding dancers, have confirmed that the true art is not time-limited, and the classics are always up-to-date.
During three days the participants of the International Choreographic Assembly named after Skorulskyi created a strange atmosphere at the Zhytomyr scenes. Competition is a complicated and serious thing, because there will always be winners and losers, and if it is about children’s teams and pods. But the tone of cooperation and significance, which the Assembly’s organizers asked from the first day, created a real holiday.
Performances by participants, professional rooms performed by leading ballet actors, a respectable and just jury – the axis of what the towns saw. Very young dancers and experienced participants demonstrated their love for the art of dance. Amateur groups and professional dancers from Bulgaria, Belarus, Georgia, Poland and various cities of Ukraine were able to feel the warmth of the Zhytomyr audience.
The promotion of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, the personal presence of the leaders of the state and the city, the participation of patrons only confirmed that the organizers make an important and necessary business.
At the birthplace of composer Mykhailo Skorulskyi, whose 130th anniversary was a timed event, there are many young talents who in the future will necessarily glorify their city in Ukraine and abroad.
Master classes and friendly advice, a rich program for participants from different countries and hospitality of Zhytomyr, awards and diplomas – all this is behind. Ahead – preparation for new take-offs, new performances.
It is hoped that gradually the International Choreographic Assembly will be able to receive more and more participants from different countries of the world, and Zhytomyr will become a city that multiplies the achievements of its prominent countrymen and develops the renowned traditions of the Ukrainian ballet.
