Many people are accustomed to surrounding themselves with furry friends – kind, gentle, loyal and sincere. Yes, it’s about cats! In 2002, the International Animal Welfare Foundation launched International Cat Day, which the world celebrates on August 8. We are preparing for the holiday, so we have prepared for you a holiday-cat selection of stories about special cats
The most famous cat in Britain is considered to be fluffy Larry. At the residence of the British government, he holds the position of chief mousetrap. And do you know where he got to the royal palace? David Cameron himself brought him from the shelter in 2011. Larry was four years old at the time, and he could hardly have expected such happiness. Now Larry has mastered the profession of a mousetrap. Hm, and what is interesting, does he have a lot of work?
Sometimes cats can be lifeguards. A pet of an ordinary Canadian family bit its owner at half past three in the morning to wake her up and report that there was a fire in the house. Thanks to this four-legged rescuer, no one was injured, and the fire was extinguished in time. This is truly an example of love and devotion.
And moreover cats can be an example for people. How do you like the story of the Thai cat with the eloquent name Able? With a small kitten, he tried to catch a bird sitting on the roof, but fell on an electric wire. Due to electric shock he almost died: he lost his front paws and tail. Its owner did everything possible to return her new friend to normal life, and two years later the Able succeeded in that. Now fluffy spends time with children, moves independently, and also has a bride. Isn`t it a good example for those who care about everyday problems?
Cats also love to learn. A cat, even called a Campus, goes to a German university every day for the lessons. The four-legged manages to see students of all faculties and doesn’t mind talking at all – he allows himself to be stroked and picked up. It helps students relax and focus on what needs to be done. The red miracle became a friend and mascot for students.
And we in Ukraine have our own cat star – the main “weather forecaster” of Ukraine Apelmon. Fluffy pupil of Natalia Didenko, a meteorologist and blogger, feels good about wind fluctuations or changes in temperature. And the vagaries of the weather with such a nice weather forecaster are perceived much more optimistically.
And what interesting stories about your pets can you tell?
