About how a little girl stepped confidently to her dreams, recipes for success and the basis of effective education, told us Constance Fortunato – a person who dedicated her life to music and children
“I was born in a family where there was a lot of love. I was an average child: I had an older brother and a younger sister. My mother played the piano, and I also really wanted to play the musical instrument. So when I was five, my mother started to teach me. At eight years my mother decided to send me to study for a professional teacher, but we did not have enough money. And then I, a little girl, went to work – began to carry newspapers and magazines in neighboring houses. So I earned my studies and paid music classes myself. For half a mile (almost two and a half miles – ed.) I went home to a music teacher, who was one of the most kind people I’ve ever met. She seemed to me so beautiful that I told her that when I grow up, I want to become like her “
“I was engaged in music all my life. I graduated from the school, then I went to a higher education institution, where I had a very dynamic teacher of choral singing. I think that then she saw the potential in me, understood what I was capable of, because I said: “I will teach you to lead the choir”. She taught me for four years “
“The family in which I grew up was beautiful. And my childhood was wonderful. My parents were extremely loyal to their views, their faith. My father died young and my mother lived to 91 years old, she was not only two years ago, but she was my hero throughout her life “
“My parents are my blessing. They raised me in complete confidence that I can do whatever it takes to fulfill certain conditions. First, I have to work a lot. Secondly, to discipline itself. And, thirdly, very much to strive for what I want to achieve. Therefore, from the very beginning, I taught myself to focus on my goals – I was a diligent student and student “
“I always had an extremely wide range of interests. For example, I thought that besides the musician’s profession, I would be able to become a doctor as well. Later I loved history, culture and thought:
“Maybe I can become a teacher?” But over time I realized that my true passion was music. I would not be able to live if I did not deal with it ”
“Young people with whom I communicate, I usually advise you to try different things in life, if they have not yet been determined with life’s purpose. But if you choose a particular direction, start working seriously. Find a specialist in the field of interests that interests you. Take time with him. It may turn out that you like this sphere, and maybe the other way around. But to go to dreams must be discipline and concentration! Find those who live in the same dream, find yourself next to them. And in such a situation you will understand what you really want “
“I watch interesting things: sometimes the information provided is the same, and the consequences are different. It depends on who teaches it: someone can inspirate, and someone can not and I would very much like to write a book on how to inspire people “
“Whatever the meaning of educational systems, I am sure that any system is effective in so far as effective people work in it. Even the system you want to change has some good components. I think that it is necessary to understand what components need to be changed. And in the first place, it is necessary to change the vision of the system itself. In general, the education system is now built on the importance of the teacher’s view. But I am absolutely convinced that for the sake of the success of the education system in its center should be a child. The main responsibility of the teacher is the ability to recognize how a learner can learn for some reason, and not fill out 250 forms to maintain his position. We must first of all understand the child’s point of view: that for the child there is a learning that is important, what is life in general. The modern educational system is obsessed with information, testing, but there are brilliant people who once failed to test. If we evaluate the success of a person due to his ability to test, then we lose the best. It is necessary to change the vision – to put a child in the center of education! ”
“When we divide people into talented, very talented, somewhat talented or not at all talented, we segment them. When there is a division of people, it does not bring benefits to society. When we teach a child to dream, work hard, deepen into oneself, to find abilities, inner self-discipline, we give children the foundation from which they will be able to push and fly! “
“There are two types of discipline. External discipline is imposed by the teacher, parents or someone from the outside. Teachers can scream, clap in the palm – whatever you want. Of course, you can achieve results. But that will be a short-term result, and then you need to scream again. But there is also an internal self-discipline on which I focus. It will be effective throughout its life. Therefore, I wait, I wait, I wait, and then I say: “The sooner you calm down, the sooner we will finish.” If we combine self-discipline, faith in ourselves, clearly defined goals, then this is precisely the formula for success”
“Success is when you managed to understand yourself, to understand why you came to this world and do exactly that. For me it is my greatest success. During classes with children I live and my part, which usually does not turn on when I do other things. I know exactly what was born for that. And the fact that I had a chance to work and do business, this is my personal success “
“I have been working in Ukraine for almost 17 years and managed to love her. And I liked Zhytomyr is a beautiful city! I sincerely wish Zhytomyr people to find and discover the abilities of their children ”
