Weekends are coming, so it’s high time to plan your free time. This weekend there are plenty of fun things. What will you choose?

1. Oblast Puppet Theatre prepared for children patriotic play about loyalty and bravery – “Mykyta Kozhumiaka” based on the story “Mykyta Kozhumiaka”. Children will learn about folk hero and victories of Ukrainian people in the struggle with conquerors. And on Sunday they can watch informative-game story “What is good and what is bad”. The Doctor and Nurse introduce main hygiene rules to children; they learn which rules they must follow to be healthy. Fun and at the same time stern Myidodyr will tell the young viewers how important it is to keep their houses clean, keep things in order, do physical exercises.

2. It’s a tradition that every third Saturday of May Ukraine celebrate Europe Day and already this Saturday main pedestrian street of the city will turn into a real European street! Here you will be able to feel this atmosphere! Come to see “Feel Europe” project. Organizers will make 28 photo areas with images of European Union countries. All people will have a chance to take pictures at issue-related locations or wear national costume of one of the European countries. Zhytomyr inhabitants and visitors of the city can spend their time with animators and folk art craftsmen. Besides, there will take place a fair-sale of goods made by craftsmen making decorative and applied arts works.

3. You love to dance or wish to learn to move with the beat? Don’t miss art marathon with orchestra and dance teams. Signature moment of the celebration is an unforgettable dance master class in the open air held by famous dancer Vlad Yama. Come and immerse yourself into dance atmosphere! 5. Jazz music has long become widely known worldwide, some kind of Esperanto – culture code, understandable for everybody in the world. Widen your cultural horizons and enjoy jazz at jazz festival “Jazzomyr”. Headliner of the festival – LELEKA band (Germany-Poland), you will also see Aramis (Sumy), Mark Tokar Trio (Lviv), Atomic Simao (Kyiv). Main program will be followed by jam-session, where together all named artists will perform with Zhytomyr musicians. Come, it will be cool!

6. Summer is around the corner – it’s time to open swimming season. We don’t suggest you diving into water, just come to see first swimming tournament on the open water “Cup of three rivers”. Swims are planned where three rivers come into one: Gnylopiat, Teteriv, Guiva. Distance – approximately 5000 m. For the youngest participants (younger 20) and for older participants “MASTERS” (65+) – distance 2500 m. Come down to see this entertaining event and support swimmers!
