On the background of everyday life or a series of holidays for one special day in the calendar, few pay attention. Aug. 19 is the World’s Day for Stray Animals. Not good and cared for the care of pets, and those who sad with hungry eyes accompany the master bags, who sleeps in the winter on sewer hatches, so that at least slightly warm up, who does not even have water in the heat. Day of those who need only a little responsibility and humanity
When you go by S. Paradzhanov’s street, an unexpectedly gray building looks like a building with colored walls, near which you can hear barking. This bright home is the Animal Protection Center, where homeless dogs help to heal, sterilize and adapt to new families.
The animals that are in the shelter are very different. They will not tell about the pain they have experienced and will not fall into depression, but will continue to rejoice in life and teach us, people. These four-breasted optimists are trained by a team of 12 dedicated people, led by Alexander Melnyk.
Three years ago a graduate of the Zhytomyr Agro-Ecological University, specializing in ecology and environment protection, worked in a completely different field. But one day he picked up a stray animal, came out of it and attached it to a new family. And then I just came up with a dream, and it got worse. For a short time, the team of the Center has done a lot and tried to change the view of the ordinary Zhytomyr dweller on the problem of homeless animals: over the past six months, 617 homeless dogs and cats were sterilized.
But the real problem is not only the number of homeless and defenseless animals that appear on the street. Everyone is well aware that the life of animals depends on the humanity and responsibility of the owners. And though everyone swears that he would never have taken a domestic animal for no reason, without thinking of it, on the roadsides for some reason, many once-groomed dogs.
Wonderful babies or young ladies who want a new toy do not often think over what is true responsibility. As if they understand that an animal is not a toy that can be bought, and then thrown back and remembered only after six months, but still taken to play. In fact, a puppy or kitten is not a toy, but a small living creature that needs to be fed several times a day, to make an injection, to take care of it. This is a huge responsibility for a little life. Therefore, it is necessary to first consider how physically or materially ready a person is ready to assume responsibility.
I am happy that sometimes children find themselves wiser than adults: they make the mainstream not the purchase of breed animals, but the taming of those animals that are in the asylum. It happens that such adults come here as adults who have lost their pet and are trying to make one creature happier. And what could be more attractive than the ability to make someone happy? And this does not require much money. Only good heart and responsibility for your own actions. Therefore, when someone rides to play with animals, just come to the Center for homeless animals. For uncomplicated savors such as the cookie “Maria” you can get the sea of positive and joy, play with fun and well-groomed animals, which have almost everything. Everyone except their own home, where they will feel unique and unique.
The experience of our European neighbors shows that people have long appreciated not the prestige or value of a breed of animals, the more they do not pursue the fashion. There are animals from the shelters.
Is it really possible to change the situation with us? All is possible, only time and desire are needed, and everything else will be found. And the new fashion on the line of street terriers will find itself a lot of supporters.
Very soon, on August 25-27, the Center team together with NGO Animal Info and volunteers will count homeless dogs. For those who really love animals and want to do good, it is a great opportunity to make an important and useful business. Join and give your love to those who need it.
