Determination and perseverance – these are the main traits of the world champion of sambo, a multiple medalist of Ukraine and Europe Kateryna Khomiak, who is a Zhytomyr citizen. 9 years ago older sister went to the “brutal” martial arts, where the delicate and cute beauties are not welcomed. On her choice Kate never regretted, because now she can’t imagine life without sambo.

“I hear from a lot of people that sambo is not women’s sport. I disagree! I think there is no difference if you like it and you show a good result, leaving your favorite activity is impossible.”

“I was not overestimated in school because of my sports successes. I’m such a “middling” in the study. And parents never forced to cram, they understood, I chose for myself other and fully supported me. It’s cool when you understand relatives and they do support you”
“Many people are shocked when they see me for the first time, wearing formal clothes and without weights. Once in summer at a meeting, for two weeks I was wearing sport clothes, without makeup and with bun on my head. In the evening, decided to wear something smart: did hairstyle, make-up, shod heels. And then was reaction of all people: “God, Kate, is it you?” (Laughs)
