Events at «Measurer» – for everyone who is interested in the art of cinema

Events important not only for Zhytomyr filmmakers will take place this week. You have a great opportunity to join them. One of the events is a meeting with Stanislav Prytula, which will be interesting for everyone who wants to make their own film or wants to know how the film industry works. People with ideas will be able to learn how to get government funding for their film. Lifehacks by Stanislav Prytula, Head of the Family Production Department, Chairman of the Public Council of the State Cinema of Ukraine, will be of interest not only to amateurs. State support for cinema is not the only resource for obtaining funding for one’s own film idea. The Family Film Department produces a lot of content: feature films, commercials, music videos, and their advertising (and it’s no joke!) Gets Cannes lions. On Friday night, the pros will share their thoughts on how to find sources of financial resources for their own film project. In addition to direct film production, Stanislav Prytula will reveal to those interested the concept of «co-production» and its role in cinematography, as well as all those who want to know how «service» differs from co-production. This year’s Dovzhenko Center project is changing the format of screenings and presenting films not in cinemas, but in revitalized, restored and creative spaces throughout Ukraine. And one of such spaces is our Zhytomyr «Mesuarer». The format of screenings is being reloaded in order to better reveal the potential of films by young directors, which break stereotypes about Ukrainian cinema and change its perception in the world. This year’s almanac demonstrates the moods and trends in Ukrainian society and cinema in 2020-2021. You can become a participant in an unforgettable cinematic adventure. The film «Surrogate» by Stanislav Santimov, which won the Audience Choice Award of the Kyiv International Short Film Festival (KISFF), makes you think about the perception of the world. You will also be able to see Anastasia Bukovska’s film «Bullmastiff», which received many awards, one of which – «Scythian Deer» for the best short film of the International Competition of the 49th Kyiv International Film Festival «Youth». «Save me, doctor» by Dmytro Hreshko, who won the main prize in the national competition at the Wizart International Short Film Festival, will leave unforgettable reflections not only for connoisseurs of cinema. «Two» by Vladislav Vitriv is a film that won the award for best acting in the National Competition at the Odessa International Film Festival.
You will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with the works of Natalia Kiselyova, winner of the Grand Prix of the Kyiv International Short Film Festival («Carpet») and Matthew Grimar, whose work «Farewell, Golovin» became the best Ukrainian short film of the Odessa International Film Festival and received a special mention of the Generation 14plus jury of the Berlin Film Festival.
