Each unique city in Ukraine has its own flavor and its own face and everywhere there are people who want to make their city better and more comfortable for everyone. Urban Cultural Festival “Workshop Zhytomyr” is for those who live and actively seeks positive change. The slogan of the festival is: “Live Zhytomyr – create Zhytomyr”. On the whole week a ground in front of regional universal scientific library named after Olzhych is converted into a studio, where by common efforts will be created an urban space. Come and join the development.
Organizers of the festival is Zhytomyr city council and the German government company «Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH» – will present the results of the project “Integrated Development in Ukraine”, implemented with financial support of the governments of Germany and Switzerland.
Established an open platform for NGOs and active citizens who seek to change their city, represent public debate and discussions on current topics. Measures aimed at the development of the city, held for six days, and they can take up one. The discussions that will take place during the festival will be affected by important and painful topic as homeless and organization of vocational rehabilitation, future labor market opportunities for youth development, the problem of solid waste and so on.
Anyone who seeks the development of the city will be able to express an opinion on the prospects and offer their vision for development. Since the “Workshop of Zhytomyr” – a project for the future, it was also discovered by those who will live in Zhytomyr in the future.
For younger participants there will be special activities, eco-workshop for children, reading books.
NGO “Zhytomyr, Voice Up!” will present the photo project “Face of Zhytomyr» and present those citizens that develop themselves and develop hometown. The concert program with participation of famous bands of Zhytomyr will end interesting and intense week.
