Rock and roll – music of freedom, life, flight. There are people for whom rock ‘n’ roll is not just a favorite single. This is a lifestyle or vocation. April 12 – World Rock and Roll Day. Today we decided to remember the stars to add a little fresh air to your life
Rock and roll music has almost never been a purely professional field since its inception, as it was practiced by those who were burning with their own dreams and desires. In America, rock and roll played an important role in the struggle for civil rights thanks to young people who saw it as a wind of change.

Bill Haley is considered to be the founder of the World Rock and Roll Day, because on April 12, 1954 he recorded the track called «Rock Around The Clock». It was this single that gave impetus to the spread of a new musical style, which quickly spread not only across the continent but throughout the world. The track was entered in the Guinness Book of Records – more than 25 million records were sold worldwide.

There is a Rock and Roll Museum of Fame in Cleveland, which was founded in 1983. The museum has an unusual structure – reminiscent of a bird that spread its wings. But artists can only get there when their first single turns 25 years old.

Most people think that pop music is the most profitable, but in reality it is not. The most successful musicians are rock and roll stars Elvis Presley and The Beatles: they earned more than $ 200 million from record sales.

The father of rock and roll is considered to be Little Richard, who became the discoverer and legislator of the genre. The musician called himself an «architect and king». Thanks to his courage, improvisation, innovation, sharp rhythms and unusual sound of the piano, the musician managed to ascend the throne in the Hall of Fame of rock and roll.

Another king, Elvis Presley, was chosen by the people – he won the hearts of millions and thanks to him rebellious music resounded in every home. His most famous single was the track «Love Me Tender», which was included in the list of «500 most famous songs»” according to the authoritative magazine called «Rolling Stone».

Another star is Buddy Holly, whose musical journey lasted only a year and a half. The musician did not chase fame or money. He just wanted the music not to be divided into races, because it could not be limited and divided by skin color. Buddy Holly claimed that music sounds the same for everyone and affect everyone. The musician died at the age of 22, and on the day of his death, people said, «This is the moment when music is dead!»

Alice Cooper once said the prophetic words, «Rock and roll doesn’t get older!» Yes, this music gives youth to thoughts, faith to dreams, and life – brightness and pleasure.

So keep your head up, and long live rock and roll!
