In recent years, many important and remarkable events have taken place in Zhytomyr, but it is unlikely that anyone will remember that a marathon was held in Zhytomyr. At least the media marathon in Zhytomyr has never happened

These days in Zhytomyr there was an event gathering active women – a media marathon “Equality in politics”.
Women, who take an active part in the life of their communities, whose professional and civic activities are known in Ukraine and in the world, became the participants, speakers, guests and participants. Among them there were many Zhytomyr locals, who work to implement gender equality.
Perhaps this is exactly why the attitude of the Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain Helen Fayzi, who remembered his own family and his hometown, who inspired her to achieve it, responded to this.
The initiators and organizers of the media marathon were the employees of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Ukraine.
It was extremely honorable to continue the actual initiative started in the Dnieper: Zhytomyr became the second city to host a similar event.
Deputy Mayor Victoria Kraslopir, who opened the marathon, emphasized the importance of issues of gender equality, without which today it is impossible to change in everyday life.
Among the guests and speakers of the event were representatives and representatives of various institutions: research institutes in Ukraine, deputies of the Ukrainian parliament, leaders and members of public organizations and journalists.
The benefits of gender equality in politics, ways to create opportunities for equal access to participation in political processes at all levels are those issues discussed by participants and participants in the media marathon.
Without solving the problems faced by active Ukrainian women, the development and provision of democracy is impossible.
But it is also extremely important that more than hundred guests, professionals from different spheres from 12 regions of Ukraine, have discovered Zhytomyr for themselves!
The joint plans for further cooperation and positive impressions will necessarily become the reason for many people present on the media marathon to come back to us again, to find out about the city more and perhaps to implement joint projects that will be of benefit to all residents of Zhytomyr.
