Long-awaited Christmas and New Year holidays have already started! The bottles are unpacked with sparkling, the rich tasting of mandarins spreads in the house, and relatives and loved ones gather at the party table. And the festive atmosphere, which in advance inspires each of us for a wonderful mood, creates not only gifts and wishes, but also old good movies. For you, we mentioned New Year’s and Christmas cinema histories that became classics
“Evenings near Dykanka” (1962)
Ancient adaptation of the immortal work of Nikolai Gogol transmits the atmosphere of a distinctive Ukrainian village. The story tells about the beauty of Oksana, the savvy blacksmith of Vakula, and the evil – a devil with malicious intent, who is planning to spoil the holiday of all in the village. The story ends with the fact that Vakula, having tamed the devil, brings to her beloved Oksana from St. Petersburg boots, as in the queen himself. Good tale, acting skills of the cinema legends – George Millar, Lyudmila Miznikova, Lyudmila Khitiaeva, Alexander Wave and incredible sincere directorial design made this story a favorite band of our grandparents.
“Carnival Night” (1956)
This story is a “pearl” in the list of holiday films from the gurus of the old comedies Eldar Ryazanov. Light, full of good humor and sharp satire, in 1956, this story became a leader in cinema rental. The star composition of the actors, including Lyudmila Gurchenko, Igor Ilyinsky, Yuriy Belov, Georgiy Kulikov and others, a simple song about five minutes and a New Year’s mood, clearly transmitted in the picture – all this made it classical. The story of a worker at the House of Culture, who is preparing a scenario for the New Year’s speech, a new head of the institution Ogurtsov, who tries to hurt the action. Funny clashes and love stories have ensured the success of comedy in viewers of many generations.
“Irony of Destiny, or enjoy your bath” (1975)
Every New Year … No, we do not go with friends in the bathhouse, but see “Irony of fate, or with a light pair!” Great songs on the poems of the best domestic poets, love and hope for unknown until happiness find new enthusiasts. The irony of fate is a false journey that changes the fate of people. The sincerity and sensuality of each hero, the immortal spirit of the New Year’s miracle and true love have become a tradition on the TV festive cinema on the eve of the New Year.
“Home Alone” 1, 2 (1990, 1992)
An interesting Christmas story has become a leader in cash collections among comedy tapes released on the screens in the 90’s. Both parts of history inspire good deeds. The comedy from the American director of cult ribbons Chris Columbus is a must-have festive home screening. The action of both films unfolds on the eve of Christmas. The great American family is killing her son Kevin twice in a row. In the first part of the youth, the creature remains at home and demonstrates its ingenuity when clumsy robbers enter their house.
In the second part of the movie, the little hero of America is back again. But now he is in a big and noisy New York. A new meeting with the same bandits not only does not frighten a little daredevil, but also shows off as a defender of others. The guy manages to protect even the charity money of the toy store.
We hope that the festive mood, the spirit of Christmas and New Year, and even good winter cinema histories will remind you of the belief in miracles and the need to become kinder!
