The town of Brwinow in central Poland is 17,000 people. However, at the end of 2019, it was written about in many Polish media, because there were competitions of skaters who liked rollers. «Each roller skating event is completely unique, just as two sports disciplines in Poland are developing dynamically and exclusively. In Brwinow, we will take on skaters from Ukraine, which will make the competition even more interesting,»- wrote on the eve of the competition, «Rewia Warszawa». However, it was not expected that guests would take with them so many medals. Two little ones brought from Brvinov two small Zhytomyr women – Veronica Lewandowska and Darina Burla. About how to raise winners, we talked to their moms

Tip 1 Notice the opportunities
I used to play table tennis in my childhood and basketball at school and institute. Skating was a dream of my childhood, as I watched figure skating on a black and white screen. But there were no opportunities for me to do it – I am a rural woman. Once, my daughter and I were looking for some leisure and decided to hop on the trampolines at Global – a typical weekend getaway with your baby. We came, and there was a skating rink instead. Therefore, we have nothing left to do on our skates. The daughter then took the skates and a special holder, and for me it was a real feat – I held on to the baby and the walker. She told me, «Mom, just don’t be afraid.» I was no longer afraid for her. That same day we wondered if we could study. That was in 2016. Practically from the first steps of training on the rink took two hours.
Tip 2 Support your children
Our children were not born with a sporting character, and it was different: they fell, they lost. However, from the very beginning they were taught to fall properly, there was sports training, choreography. This is daily work, but I see it as a development physiologically as well as as a person. Sport instills self-discipline, self-confidence, and improves self-esteem. They had competitions in Zhytomyr, Odessa – all-Ukrainian and international competitions, which they have already seen with their programs. In Sumy, they competed with other children from different parts of the country, and they had such passion and emotions. And there they saw not only the initial level. But if they lose, we support them. They should always be supported!

Tip 3 Do not put your fears in the minds of children
When my baby first came to the show a month after she skated, I was more worried than she was. However, when some woman asked, «Were you afraid?» – I asked her to leave. We put fear in our children, we teach them to be afraid. The child replied, «No, I was not afraid.» If something happens, I will explain to her how she can respond, and it is not possible to put children ‘s own fears in their heads.
Tip 4 Get inspired by your own children
We were shocked when the girls won. Before the competition, we do not adjust them to the pedestal. Sport is also an opportunity to see the world. We were delighted with the school in Brwinov, which hosted the international competitions, because there were incredible conditions in a regular school. Polish children also cheered for us – traditionally, they used to throw soft toys to our children, make appearances on video. We get inspired when we watch the competition, we have fun. This is how our children and us are inspired: now we go to the gym with Liuda.
The most important tip Do not go for your own ambitions
We follow the will, the call of our children, we support them all. Why force it? We once did not love when we were forced. You just have to love and support your children in whatever they like!
P.S. Our little winners took the silver medals at the Brwinov competition and now dream of a skater cup. They will definitely work out if we, the adults, help them a little. At least let’s just create all the conditions.
