On February 6, the creators of steep cocktails and jolly mood – barmen all over the world celebrate their professional holiday. The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance: Catholics celebrate Saint Amanda on this day, who is considered to be the patron saint of winemakers and restaurateurs.
The day of the bartender is a holiday young: it has been celebrated in Ukraine since 2008. But the profession of bartender is one of the oldest. The need for it arose with the advent of the first drinking establishments that were still in Ancient Greece!
Of course, today the bartender is not just a man standing behind a bar and pouring drinks.
This is the person who perfectly knows the cocktail card, has all the intricacies of etiquette, and if necessary, can listen, support, give right advice…
For somebody, the work of a bartender is a good way of earning, for some it is also the most beloved thing of all life!
Almost all day on the legs, while always funny, friendly and tactful: “The visitor should not bother your bad mood or personal problems, so leave them out of work!” – says a bartender with a 9-year experience Pavel Petrovskyi.
New pleasant acquaintances, a special atmosphere and an infinite space for the implementation of ideas – that’s what once prompted the young guy to stand behind the counter. Working in various pubs and restaurants, everyone drew something new for himself: he found his own chips, perfected his skills. At the same time, prepare 46 (!) Cocktails, it’s not simple thing!
However, setting records is not the most important achievement. More proud of the fact that thanks to him a happy ending ended not one story of love. Some of them even went for a wedding!
Current customers are pretty picky, notes Paul, but the first place among the cocktails confidently holds the classic!
Cosmopolitan, Bloody Mary, Cuba libre, Pina Colada, Margarita, Tequila sunrise, Long Island iced tea – the most popular choice among pubs.
Each drink has its own taste, aroma, unique appearance … And most importantly, all of them can be non-alcoholic!
Taste delicious cocktails and plenty to have fun, becoming a witness of a real beetle between bartenders, it will be possible this Monday! Come February 6 to the “King’s Pub”, where the best bartenders of the city compete in their skills!
