A photographer is a person who sees not just a frame through the camera lens, but the whole world. Real pros are able to convey images, moods, immerse themselves in the atmosphere and illustrate reality in the format “outside”. Not to capture moments, but to reflect life is a difficult skill. That is why Photographer’s Day is a time to remember recognized masters of photography in its various manifestations

Alexander Glyadelov received the Shevchenko Prize in the category «Visual Arts» in 2020 for a series of works entitled «Carousel». The project contains not only a deep philosophical subtext, because Alexander took pictures in the war zone in Donbass. During the work he tried to convey the state, mood, emotions. The name «Carousel» arose as a derivative of the conditions in which the author took photographs, which enhances the emotional component of the photographer’s work.
The Bazaar Fashion Forward project is aimed at finding and supporting young Ukrainian fashion talents. Its uniqueness in a comprehensive approach to creating a new history of Ukrainian fashion. Bazaar Fashion Forward finalists, including photographer Yuriy Kalinchak, had an ambitious goal – to take the Ukrainian fashion industry to a new level as part of the global fashion industry. As part of the project in 2017, Yuriy Kalinchak received an award as the best fashion photographer.
The photo called «Magic tree» by Yevhen Samuchenko was in the top ten of the best pictures in the world made from a drone. For his work, the author received an award from the International Mountain, Nature and Adventure Photo Contest in the category of drone photography. Now the photo of the city of Uman is presented within the limits of the international printed exhibition.
Photographer Oleksandr Klymenko has been covering the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 25 years. He endows each of his photographs with a character and emotion that does not leave the audience indifferent. This year, the photographer received a departmental award – the badge of honor of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine «For services to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.»
Zhytomyr resident Anton Yankovy is a photographer, blogger, traveler and philosopher. For a long time he collaborated with well-known agencies, publications and companies: Apple, National Geographic, Getty Images, Yahoo, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, SilverKris Airlines, El Pais, Daily Record, British Digital Photo, Digital SLR Photography Magazine, Photographer, PhotoTravel, Photography, Himalaya MapHouse, Go Launcher and others. In 2017, he received an award in the prestigious Best Mountain Photo of the Year photo competition in the Mountain Faces nomination, which was a pleasant surprise for Anton.
Mastering the art of photography is not easy. It is not enough to have a powerful camera or technical knowledge for this. The deep inner world and the soul of the philosopher are an integral part of the profession.
