In search of spring: gastronomic travel to the restaurant “PRIMAVERA”

If you draw a parallel between the calendar and the weather outside the window, there is a lasting feeling of frustration: well, when is spring finally finally coming? Expectation of “mercy to nature” is not our format, and we tried to search the spring. And since “PRIMAVERA” is a spring translated from the Italian, it was there that our expert expert Olena Ryumin, a content manager and a fan of adventure

Location The restaurant is perfectly fitted into the architectural ensemble of the Castle Square with its old buildings, so looking at the scenery from the restaurant “PRIMAVERA” is a real pleasure.
The historic center of the city, sprouted with legends, is one of the most favorite places for recreation of Zhytomyr, which also impresses on the guests of the city, which stop at the Reikartz Hotel. A special atmosphere is created by architectural monuments around the restaurant and a park with a 78-ton natural bay, set up in honor of the founding of Zhytomyr. Getting to the restaurant “PRIMAVERA” is not difficult: from the Cathedral Square, you need to turn for justice. On the car – from any direction go to the central square of the city, especially since the institution owns a parking lot for a car, which is very convenient, is located in the immediate vicinity, and from the Cathedral Square are heading to the Castle. Just when the true spring comes, be sure to go on foot and admire the colorful landscape, excite the appetite and admire the eye.
Interior It’s hardly possible to call the interior “PRIMAVERA” exclusive, but everything is so calm and harmonious that there is not even a thought about the desire to change or add something – a typical European restraint coupled with refinement. Solemnly white tablecloths, dinnerware, wine glasses – as if there is no unnecessary pathos, and refinement and festive atmosphere are present.
Lighting in the hall as if it includes the original mode like “holiday is approaching”: small sconces on the walls give the impression that the holiday is very close, somewhere outside the door, but it is here, on comfortable sofas, you can rest. In general, the atmosphere of rest and expectation, which all the visitors are immersed in: both adults and children, reigns. At least, in a child’s armchair, which is always ready, the children do not sit.
And from the window of a small coffee shop “PRIMAVERA”, in which parents can drink a cup of coffee with a piece of cake, sometimes it seems a more convenient place to wait for a holiday, or spring.
Cuisine Since PRIMAVERA is an Italian restaurant, it would be strange if the menu did not have a pizza. And she is: “Margarita”, “Florence”, “Milan”, “Four cheese” and of course “Primavera”. But pizza is not a festive dish, so our gastro expert drew attention to the rather simple but still unhealthy dishes. Of course, there are enough temptations: bruschetti, salads, snacks. And among the variety of flavors Elena in the eye dipped the salad “Caesar”, apparently simplicity of which is hidden a small secret: the freshness of lettuce in combination with shrimp inspires dreams of warm lands.
According to the same logic, the definition of the main course took place. Without stopping at the traditional Italian pastes and almost native Ukrainians (due to remote similarity with dumplings) ravioli, plunging into the dream of the seaside, our gastro expert ordered risotto with mussels. Usually, this dish is expected for about half an hour (rice in a diamond must be solid – al dente), but our expectations were not useless. Pay attention to meals and dishes: when dreams of spring and sun capture, even a plate reminds a beach hat, and the lack of bright colors is perfectly compensated by carrot freesia.
On any other day, you could order a mushroom cream soup with garlic croutons or a minestrone, or taste tomato Ramen soup with bacon tails, but not today when you want to dip into the spring.
Service The very fact that we were met was already a pleasure. It is worth explaining: because there are various adventures during travel, and our gastronomy is no exception, sometimes the presence of banquets is a hindrance to our visits. Apparently, the presence of four collective orders could be a reasoned reason for refusal, but they were fed up with us, albeit we were warned that we would have to wait a little.
Serving here is polite and unobtrusive at the same time, as the atmosphere itself, and it always attracts. And although the average check for lunch here is close to 200 UAH. depending on the chosen dishes, but you can be sure about the price-quality ratio.
Curiosities For some tricks, the hosts of some institutions did not go to create a cosiness and peculiar coloring, sometimes it is difficult or simply impossible to do it. The main attraction of the restaurant “PRIMAVERA” is its atmosphere, which promotes everything in the complex: from traditional Italian dishes to the details of the decor. Here it is comfortable to negotiate and have dinner with friends, cozy for adults and children, here the relaxation flows smoothly into concentration, and therefore the expectation of a true spring from a dream turns into almost a ritual.
