It seems that, until recently, skeptics claimed that Zhytomyr is far from being a serious player in the tourist market, and today the “Fair of tourist offers” gathered representatives of the tourist sphere of the city and region who are in favor of their own land, have achievements and are eager to move forward.
On August 6, the Tourism Market Fair, held at the Zhytomyr Center for Local Self-Government Development, spoke about the development strategy, tourism priorities and tourism development in the united territorial communities of Zhytomyr Region, about the creation of the Zhytomyr Tourism Association and its main tasks

Interesting tourist products that today can present to Ukraine and the world Zhytomyr region, not only showed the capacity of the community, but also interested the guests.
Ivan Liptuga, chairman of the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine, noted progress in the development of the sphere in Zhytomyr region and outlined the main tasks:
“Zhytomyr is very interesting for us. Three years ago, nothing interesting in Zhytomyr did not happen to us, as for the Ministry, for the NTO. Therefore, we are very glad that this meeting finally took place, and we were able to come and communicate not only with the representatives of Zhytomyr, but also with the territorial communities. Our task is to consolidate the tourism business of all Ukraine and form regional tourist organizations. Today, in Zhytomyr, a regional tourism organization, which is now part of the National, has emerged, which means that it will implement our standards of quality, marketing, knowledge. Already done a lot, but there is no limit to achievement. Therefore, an important consolidation, a common understanding of business, so that people do not compete with each other, but look in one direction. It is important to increase financing at all levels, to strengthen the marketing component, it is important to outline Zhytomyr in the information field as a tourist destination. ”
Andrii Shelestyuk, Chairman of the Zhytomyr Tourism Association, said: “The idea of ​​creating an association has come about a long time ago. One and a half years ago, when strategic sessions were held on the development of the city, we began to talk about consolidation. The main goal was to identify the associations of tourist players of the city and regions. It was born an understanding that we need to unite for effective promotion. In July last year, a seminar was held on which the tourism asset of Zhytomyr Region was formed. During the year there was a series of events, events, and the active participated in the creation of a tourist information center. And now the actions were formalized in the creation of a public association – the Zhytomyr Tourism Association “.
At the presentations were presented tourist products of Zhytomyr region, which are certainly interesting and competitive, and therefore have prospects for development.
Olga Mankovska, board member of the Zhytomyr regional charity fund “Bereginya Polissya”, sees a serious potential in the development of medical tourism. Over the years of the fund’s operation, Ms. Olga has gained a firm belief that Zhytomyr region can not only impress its guests with beautiful landscapes or historical monuments, but also take on the treatment:
“Today, medical tourism is a” dark spot “: few people know about it and few develop it. In the center of “Bereginya Polissya” we provide a range of rehabilitation services, and therapeutic procedures that are provided at a high level. We have established an international association of anima-therapies (ed., One of the types of therapy that uses the animals as a means of treatment), trained specialists from Ukraine and Moldova. We are extremely interested in this area of ​​tourism, and now we are working with Austrian, Polish and German colleagues, where this kind of rehabilitation and tourism is developed. Therefore, I would like to draw attention to the fact that in Zhytomyr region there is a potential due to the use of unique opportunities of hippotherapy, which gives concrete qualitative results. ”
There is no doubt that joint efforts can make Zhytomyr a tourist attraction of Ukraine, no one already has, it does not seem impossible to inflate tourists, and those who gradually transform dreams into reality, do not look like strangers.

You know, once said Steve Wozniak, a co-founder of many Apple’s dream: “Those who are mad, who think that they can change the world, eventually change it!” And I was right! Once joint efforts will lead to the fact that getting on a weekend to Zhytomyr will have to be for every tourist!
