Stephen King’s books are as interesting as possible for different readers. Each book has its own unique atmosphere from which the skin tingles. Maybe you suddenly want to dilute the mimicry atmosphere of the New Year holidays, then entertain yourself with good old books of the classic mystical genre
Stephen King “Renaissance”
From the first page, you will be interested in one name – Howard Phillips Lovecraft. King’s world is strikingly akin to the world of Lovecraft: the work of the King of Horrors can be considered a transformation of Lovecraft’s myth. King was inspired and admired Lovecraft’s work, and “Renaissance” is the author’s homage to one of those who “helped build his house.”
“Renaissance” – reflections on our lives, which can be created by design or simply the result of coincidence. With the utmost ease, King intertwines the life of a young musician with the life of a priest who became a magician, an evangelical healer of the faith for six decades.
“Frightened people live in their own hell. You could say they create it themselves, but there’s nothing they can do about it.”
The characters and the setting reflect one of the epochs of American history – the three-act life drama. There is no winner, no good that defeats evil. There is only a desire to look into the darkness of history…

Stephen King “Carrie”
Carrie White is a strange creature: a teenage girl, a heroine of jokes, who suddenly feels the fire inside. This is the story of a catastrophe that happened at a regular prom, which may remind you of the story of Cinderella. In addition to the main character, there is the Godmother – Sue, the Charming Prince – Tommy, the evil stepmother (Margaret White). But will the author leave the finale of the work fabulous? A whirlwind of emotions, branded King’s sharpness of plots – and the evening with the book will be unparalleled.
“Compassion is a patch for wounded feelings. You could say that you feel sorry when you pour coffee or when you miss a game of golf. True compassion is as rare as true love.”
This work is an ideal start to get acquainted with the works of the Master. In addition, “Carrie” is a great book for regular fans of the author of all ages, from teenagers to their parents.

Stephen King’s “Exaltation”
Small in size, but a sharp work of unity and tolerance. Scott Carey has a problem: he’s losing weight. Some people want to lose weight and do not consider it a problem. Maybe Scott would like it, if not for one annoyance: his weight is the same when he is without clothes, and with dumbbells weighing 50 pounds, as well as pockets full of small things. The number is getting smaller every day, and the man, before it’s over, decides to help his new neighbors from Castle Rock.
“… But isn’t weight, like time, just a concept invented by man? The hands on the clock face, the numbers on the screen of electronic scales – what is this but an attempt to measure the invisible impact that gives visible results?”
The finale of the story seems to be emotionally over, but readers want a sequel. Maybe that’s the main strength of the author – to give fans the opportunity to come up with a story?

Stephen King “Christina”
This is a book about the car, more precisely about the relationship between man and his vehicle. To show off an ordinary car, a good owner would need a few cans of varnish and a camera. But the problem is that the Christina is much more than just a car: the car is endowed with supernatural powers. You have to love this car, or it will kill everyone your owner knows.
Once a narcissistic mother, she dictated everything to Arnie Cunningham: what to do, what to love. The boys at school beat him, and the girls laughed at him, thinking he was ugly. However, everything changes when Arnie meets his first love, and this love – “Christina”.
“I think everyone has something like a manure shovel, which in moments of stress and trouble you start digging into yourself, your thoughts and feelings. Get rid of it. Burn it. Otherwise, the pit you dug will reach the depths of the subconscious, and then the dead will come out of it at night.”
“Christina” turns Arnie into a real man, cultivating confidence, charisma, which he had never felt before. He starts dating the most beautiful girl from school, makes friends, but there is “Christina”, driven by jealousy. Anyone who dares to stand between her and Arnie is very disappointed by the cruelty of her metal body.

Stephen King’s “Land of Entertainment”
How skillfully and filigree the King of Horrors will captivate the reader in this not at all entertaining story!
“At the age of twenty-one, life lies before you like a map. And it’s only at the age of twenty-five that you begin to suspect that you’re looking up at the map, and by the age of forty, you’re finally convinced. And by the age of sixty, believe me, you will find out that you are hopelessly lost. “
One of the special characteristics of King’s works is the double narrative. The reader seems to find himself almost simultaneously in parallel worlds, which are the lives of the heroes of the work. Good and sincere characters, a calm and, at first glance, quite ordinary atmosphere, but even in this sweet story, the author has found a place for the mystery of murder.

From the editors We did not refrain from commenting. Stephen King’s literary legacy includes more than 200 works, each of which is original and vivid. Even if your reading tastes do not extend to thrillers or mysticism, try to at least get acquainted with the works of the author of world bestsellers, who firmly combines good and evil, crime and punishment, hope and inevitability, reality and fiction. Finally, if our attempts are not convincing, check out the films “Escape from Shawshank” and “Green Mile”, to which Stephen King is directly related. Understand what we are talking about…
