They say that leaders are not born: they do it themselves. The Ukrainian Leadership Academy (UAL) helps to become leaders in those who graduate from high school.
For 10 months, ordinary Ukrainian girls and boys master the elements of physical, academic and spiritual upbringing and improvement. Young people with high leadership potential receive in the Academy knowledge in order to continue to work for the benefit of their country.
On December 12, UAL students came to the “Lviv Chocolate Workshop”, where they were glad to meet not only traditionally delicious sweets, but also interesting stories about the life of the city.
Moderator of the meeting Tetyana Parfentieva greeted the guests with a celebration, which is proud of the Zhytomir people – the anniversary of the creation of the 95th airmobile brigade, and introduced with an interesting interlocutor, Mykola Silin.
Iryna Marenkova, the curator of the NGO “Zhytomyr: Make it More Glorious”, told me about how we, the Zhytomyr people, are proud of our city, as we want to see it modern, beautiful and attractive for guests, and what is done for this.
Students of the Academy exchanged their impressions from Zhytomyr, talked with guests and masters in an informal atmosphere.
Lubomir Shimkiv, manager of the UAL, told about the main values of the Academy: be free, be wise, and be creative.
Lyubomyr’s reflections on the process of selection and achievement of the first graduates of the UAL, their vision of the role of non-formal education and the conditions of study at the UAL, on the experience of Israeli colleagues illustrate his vision – to work for the good of the state.
He shared with the impressions of our city: “At first glance, Zhytomyr seems to be Soviet, but now, after a tour, we have seen many healthy organisms in the city. A typical problem in Zhytomyr is the outflow of people to Kyiv. There must be magnetic projects that attract.
UAL is one of these magnets. The city is people, and if not attracting new cool people, the city dies. ”
The meeting left a pleasant taste: hopefully, the Ukrainian Leadership Academy will soon be able to open its doors for young talented Zhytomyr citizens.
