Researching and discovering new places in Ukraine is the main purpose, which connected members of “Ukraїner”. To the brave team, which has started a world-wide expedition, joined a lot of volunteers and partners who also shared an idea of popularization of Ukraine. That’s how common-cultural project “Ukraїner” has appeared: half a year of researching, 14 regions and thousands of undiscovered and interesting places and people. Meeting with “Ukraїner” team in “Lviv Chocolate Workshop” is one more cultural opening for Zhytomyr citizens.
Starting from July, organizers of touristy-expedition media project have already travelled to Carpathian Mountains, Azov Sea and Poltava regions. Fourth expedition is a travel to Polissia.
Bohdan Lohvynenko, an author of “Ukraїner”, had earlier presented his journeys, but those were trips around distant Eastern countries and the desire to be inspired by something by hand has helped to create massive project.
Each region presented by the team is interesting and unique. However, these are stories about our Polissia! During three weeks of travelling around Polissia, “Ukraїner” team has opened unique nature and incredible cuisine. “I don’t think you’ll find somewhere sausages made of domestic beaver, but you can try it here!” – told Bohdan. Pastness impresses on certain areas: “We were in some villages, where community is still divided into nobility and mugs! Something we don’t have for several centuries!”
Discovering unique places in Ukraine, members of project are sure, that it must be seen yourself. People impress more, because their interesting activities motivate for researching: “We are not interested what used to be here, but what is here now: the way people live here. We are encouraged by every hero. You know, after all stories, there’s a desire to leave everything and go to village and do something engaging.”
Beekeeping has become an exotic craft in Polissia. Some encyclopedias describe, that beekeeping disappeared in XIX century, but curious “Ukraїner” found people, who still do it and produce honey.
Every expedition for all members of project these are memorable emotion and incredible places, which become a foundation of anthropological and ethnographical outline. Charismatic team has put priorities: no troubles will be obstacles to live bright and optimistic life. They relate to all problems with humorous undertone: why should one be nervous, if nothing changes? Is it a problem to drive 30 km/h or spend 24 hours with no connection? They manage to see and share the most important: Ukraine is wonderful!
Full soon “Ukraїner” will go to conquer Besarabiia. We’ll see what endless spaces will present our travelers on official website of “Ukraїner” project.
