How does a jobless person behave? Well, suffering, well, goes to look for a new job, at which it is advisable to first go to the «exchange» – there will help. Not your script? Yes, and this story will not be. Our heroine, Victoria Pasichnyk, organized her scenario: she took 60% of her own savings, found an investor who contributed another 40%, and launched a successful online project – Ukrainky.com. About life as it is, about the site, and about quarantine from the irreverent optimist with the big heart of Victoria Pasichnyk for Zhytomyr.Travel

«We are an online magazine with a big and very dedicated female community on Facebook. I joke that it was founded for purely selfish reasons – I wanted to read what was interesting to myself and my girlfriends. I wanted a new, useful, ironically-alive, not refined-glossy-sweet. We position ourselves as such:a magazine for real, not «glossy», women. I had experience working in «glaze». I have worked for 13 years at Natalie magazine, the last seven being the editor-in-chief. I had the necessary base – from authors to advertisers, a fortnight or three years ago Natalie changed owner and needed to look for a job. And I found. In my own business: I created an online magazine Ukrainka – Ukrainky.com, a magazine about the needs and interests of each of us»

«As a kid, I was a big dreamer. I fell asleep and dreamed, walked and dreamed. Probably because I had no restrictions and saw all my dreams come true: from German dolls to the Orlyatko bike. I grew up in a large, friendly, patriarchal, well-meaning and well-off family. My grandparents and great-grandmother were high commanders in Soviet times, and we, grandchildren, were very indulgent. In their house, the doors were never closed: everyone could come in for salt, for advice, for retirement – the postmen kept money at their place, knowing that it was safe here, as in a bank. 15-20 people gathered at the table for the holidays. They never bought one service, always two, so that everyone had enough dishes. And this is purely a family: two grandmothers, grandfather, my parents, three uncles and their wives and we, children. Probably, these family gatherings – festive feasts, trips to the country house, summer export of us, children, to the Sea of Azov, where one of the uncles lived, summer sittings in the yard under the grandfather’s accordion play – were the ones that were most taken care of. I made the installation: the family is very, very important, I’m old-fashioned in that sense»

«When talking about an interview or a business meeting with «star» guests, from a professional point of view, you should always be prepared in advance: to know the biography, the topic of the conversation, the elementary – the history of the company or, of course, the name of the latest music disc. Speaking from a human point of view, you have to maintain dignity and upbringing even with the most uneducated «stars», and, unfortunately, many. I once counted that I had done more than 70 interviews, on the contrary, I was able to «talk» and gain the affection of even very lazy and closed-minded people. However, this is solely due to the willpower and understanding that I am «in the line», that I have to do a quality interview, that I have no right to compromise the magazine I represent. Celebrities are nothing special, they are the same people as us. We make them special and do our utmost attention. Only talents and geniuses are special, and I met no more than ten or so»

«Natalie’s experience taught virtually everything in the editorial business: from text editing to template development (editorial template, sample) layout, from the preparation of 140 pages of the magazine for a week and a half (and so on) to undressing star men for an anniversary special project, from being able to calculate the budget of an edition to live television appearances, from forming a team to accruing fees. It has been 13 years of incredible school without which I would not be present»

«An editor is a universal soldier who can do everything: write and edit the text»

«Quarantine has not fundamentally changed my life: I work with online projects, and they are not affected by external restrictions. Now all the more they go online, and the amount of work has not decreased. You just paused or postponed the time of delivery, and there is a backlash: you can not hurry up and not sit until night, as always. Plus, time is freed from canceled meetings and events – you can finally pull up your tails, put things in order in work folders and at home in the closet»

«Now we all go through some lessons. However, I would call the lesson not the isolation itself, but the very situation with the virus. Recently, my daughter showed me a video that is now «walking» on Instagram. It seems to be Italian, and there just a male voice speaking on behalf of the virus about the reasons why it fell on our head. To recite this monologue is a long time,so it is better to «google» it, and though it is somewhat pathetic and decisive, it really is a lesson that humanity has received for its sins of the last half century: indifference to each other, to nature, to the simple human pleasures that are now suddenly from the fright everyone mentioned. This is generally a good litmus test for everything: who you are, who is near, with whom and what you live daily, which you do not notice in the fuss for a long time»

«During the quarantine, I am busy all the time, thank God. On the contrary, I am amazed at the tips on how to please yourself or make you do anything. It seems to me that adult intelligent people always have something to do – read the book at least once, call mom, stick the dumplings in the end, and then shake the press. To tell the truth, I have been saving references to documentary films from history and art for years. When the quarantine was announced, I thought, «I will finally watch them.» The second week has passed, and I never found the time. Well, I have almost a month to go!»

«In Ukraine, we have a strange state of constant expectation that someone will be happy: the authorities, the husband, the parents, the happy event or that happiness is about to come, we have to wait. As for me, if you are healthy and your children, parents are healthy, if you have someone to call, you have a roof over your head, you do not die of hunger, you are already happy. And the rest are nice bonuses. And Quarantine just reminded everyone of that»

«We have a lot of social problems, but I am most worried about old people who have a meager pension. Many of them are lonely for years. We almost do not notice them in ordinary life, we do not think how it is possible to live in retirement for two to three thousand hryvnias. To me, this is a wild humiliation of poverty in old age. Now everyone suddenly remembers the old people – it’s very commendable, but they want to be helped just like that, regardless of quarantine. They need product kits not just now so they don’t leave the house. They deserved normal food, care, decent service every day. There is a Zhytelyub Foundation in Kiev, which has helped the elderly before. At the site and at fb we often announce their initiatives, who can support financially, our editor responsible for the cultural segment volunteered to distribute free fundraising lunches. We will all be old»

«I love different holidays. It depends on my condition. Sometimes you just want to be quiet, to be without people, when there is a glut of meetings, communication, events. Then you just have to be silent for a while. But at the same time, I love to welcome guests, I just love to walk downtown on weekends. We even have three variants of the route, for three hours or so. Of course, I like to travel, but for the most part, all trips abroad are business trips that have made it to a quarter of hundreds of countries. Just before quarantine, I returned from Istanbul, where I was very impressed by Topkapi Palace and the underground reservoir. I believe that all of us will have the opportunity to go abroad again in the summer»

«Zhytomyr associates for me with the way home. Through Zhytomyr, the highway leads to Lviv, where I come from, where a part of my family, childhood friends still live. When my mother lived there, I used to drive through Zhytomyr very often by car. One of the Ukrainky.com SMMs from the Zhytomyr region, so we have a connection with Zhytomyr»
