The presentation of the book has traditionally been held at the Lviv Chocolate Workshop. This time it’s the result of the project of the same name – the book “12 incredible women”, published in “Publishing House of the Old Lion”
Director of the Marian Savka Publishing House and two heroines of the book, well-known journalist Olga Herasymiuk and entrepreneur and public figure Liudmula Zubko, spoke about their own stories. The format of twelve detailed interviews with well-known women, each of which speaks of the values in general and about one of them, the most important for themselves – individually, made it possible to show what women live and what they want.
Olga Herasymiuk determined for himself the main value of equality: “We all have different starting positions, this is a reality. But each of us must have equal opportunities. With the rest, both women and men need the same thing. We meet on the eve of March 8 when we talk about gender equality – but this is about our common equality, not about men or women, “said the journalist.
Olga Herasymiuk, the main enemies of equality, called the stereotypes about women and men so rooted in our consciousness that they become peculiar traps: strength, stability, responsibility are considered “non-human”, and therefore condemned by women, and sensitivity, compassion, as if humiliating men in men . But this is a dangerous and false path: we can all be stronger or weaker at different moments of life.
For Liudmula Zubko, the main value is honesty: “One can not be honest at the same time in a family, and somewhere outside it – it’s not fair to be honest. Women’s destiny is motley, women show themselves in business, science, culture, not only in the family, but people must support each other for this purpose. ”
Many have been told at the presentation about women as mothers.
According to Mariana Savka, the idea of the project, which resulted in the book, arose from a certain isolation from the world of events and people in which she lived, becoming a young mother. The desire to expand the boundaries of their family, the desire to communicate with other women, led her to the idea of frank conversations with incredible women who inspired her.
Olga Herasymiuk noted the need to respect the right to choose a person. “One must respect the choice of every woman: and if she wants to work, and if she wants to be a housewife. However, I do not advise in any way to forget about oneself, to fall into dependence on others. After all, different things can happen in life, and a woman can remain alone, without the opportunity to secure oneself, without the opportunity to be fully realized. ”
Girls and women present at the meeting, had the opportunity to inspire examples. And who knows, maybe one of them in a few years will become a new incredible heroine of the inspirational project.
