Once a little girl watched from the window of the children’s hospital and dreamed that she would recover and go to horses grazing in the yard. And I could not imagine that thanks to the horses, not only she forever forgot about the disease, but also began to treat other children.
When you are next to a horse, touch a mane or just look into smart eyes, forget about everything in the world, even if you never loved horses. They are different, like people: serious and a bit tired, mysterious and inquisitive. Romance, Magnolia, the Olympics with the small Olympia and Riabinushka are not just beautiful and well-groomed horses, but also workers of the health and rehabilitation and recreation center “Bereginya Polissia”.
They are trained by Olesya Marchuk – the President of the Zhytomyr Region Charitable Foundation “Bereginya Polissia”, a mother of three children and a certified hippotherapist, a member of the international school of therapists. Then, in childhood, after discharge from the hospital, she still came to the stables. At first, I was enjoying horses, began to ride, clean, and did not even notice how I stopped using asthma medications. Then in an adult’s life, when they began to hurt their own children, they mentioned the treatment of horses. Horses’ milk, gymnastics – all this for seven days, and forgot about bronchitis. Then there was an idea to help others to be treated with the help of horses. Olesya is a real specialist, because he has a pedagogical education, and a profile: he graduated from the socio-psychological faculty of the Pedagogical University named after him. I. Franko, then Tbilsk Medical Academy named after Shotadze. Funds for studying also appeared not without the help of animals, or rather the donkey, which drove children in the park.
At first, one horse, then small “guzulki” – an aboriginal breed of horses, which is ideally suited to hippotherapy? They are enduring, have a good physique, like a sofa, on which the child is comfortable to go even lying down. But they are also psychologically stable, because they are calm to small patients. During the time of the existence of the center more than 300 children were rehabilitated, mastered a healing riding.
Duration of treatment is 3-5 months. It is brought here for treatment even from abroad, taking advantage of the balance of quality and price. And the main thing is that horses sometimes succeed in something that is not under the power of official medicine. When a child diagnosed with cerebrospinal fluid demonstrates volitional skills (gymnastics on horseback), this can not but strike. Now, in cooperation with the former member of the team of Ukraine on equestrian sport Valeriy Abramenko, children are preparing for the Paralympics program.
Today here all Olesina family helps. Olga Mankovskaya, Olesha’s mother, a member of the board of Bereginya Polissia, is assisted by a man who was in the ATO zone for two years. A lot of work: you need to complete a closed playpen to work at any time of the year, to prepare hay for horses.
Especially since horses also need to take seriously, prepare for work. The horse must undergo training, be calm and balanced. Children who come to treatment have diseases of varying therapeutic complexity, may cry, and scrub the mane. But the return is worth it! The parents of one of the little runners said that the girl waits for the whole time to meet with Busia (she calls the horse).
