“The heavenly tree over the paradise stood” – these songs were sung in the evenings, embroidering towels, our great-grandmothers. Embroidered and folded into a chest, which then became the guardian of women’s treasures.
About such a treasury and told by one of the autumn evenings in Zhytomyr, in the “Lviv Chocolate Workshop”.
Meeting-presentation of art-book “Skrynia. Rechi syly” took place with the participation of the authors of Yarina Vynnytska and Julia Tabenska.
“This book has changed me” – such confessions came from the connoisseurs of literature and art. And can it be otherwise, when a higher-grade edition falls into your hands?
Getting to know life and life, plunging into the world of ancestors – as if to travel on a car of time, this seems like an exquisite edition.
Ukrainian must have – the wealth of the house of the true hosts, which reveals the unknown world of ancestors, the roots and essence of every Ukrainian.
Icons, towels, rugs and necklaces gathered for many years. With these treasures the girls went to the womanhood, to the husband’s house.
And that chest was a family lure and a chronicle: on the upper part of the chest was written by the mother when they were sent to the wedding when the newlyweds married when the children were born, and also about the crop and the livestock cow.
Like towels, they laid a path between the past, the present and the future.
“Skrynia. Rechi syly” is also a guideline, focusing on which we learn to honor the memory of the genus.
“Lviv Chocolate Workshop” treats not only delicacies, but also spiritual “dishes” – interesting books, extraordinary people, and love for works of art.
