“World exists until Shyva dances”

April gave us a lot of bright events. And ended up spectacularly – with the celebration of the International Day of Dance and Choreography First Congress
The highest degree of understanding is an understanding without words. It makes it possible to dance without words to convey feelings, but every real dancer for a long time is working on the ability to convey to the viewer the rise or amounts joy or anguish.
First Choreographic Congress designed to draw attention to the elite art of dance which was held with the assistance of the Department of Culture of the City Council and Zhytomyr patrons and collected artists, choreographers and interested spectators.
Master classes by leading choreographers of Ukraine from classical, folk and modern dance stage interested people who wish to learn and develop their skills in the art of dance.
Michael Zavarzin shared his experiences, assistant professor of choreography in Kiev National University of Drahomanov; Roxana Horbachuk, who is a senior lecturer of choreography department in  Rivne State Humanitarian University and art director and ballet-master of an ensemble of modern choreography “Neo Dans”; Andrii Skotskii, a teacher of modern dance choreography department of Rivne State Humanitarian University and a teacher and choreographer of the ensemble of modern choreography “Neo Dans”; Andrii Hlazshneider – the leading soloist of theatres of K. Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemyrovych-Danchenko, laureate of international contests and more.
Participation in the Congress has also taken Roksana Skorulska, the author of numerous publications in the field of source history of Ukrainian culture, teacher of the Kiev Institute of Music named after Gliere; Prize laureate by Lysenko and a daughter of an outstanding Zhytomyr citizen, ballerina Nataliia Skorulska.

At the end there was a gala concert, where a crowd was waiting for a premier of children’s mini-ballet to music of M. Skorulskyi and modern Ukrainian composers.
“Forest Song” is a landmark work for the Ukrainian ballet.
Children’s mini-ballet based on this work is a vivid proof that in Zhytomyr there are those who are developing Ukrainian classical dance tradition!
