Discovering something new in the city in which you were born and lived for many years is extremely interesting. Every such finding is a real present. And when in addition you meet incredible people … Probably, it draws a place!

About Denyshi array heard almost every climber, but they need to spend time a little bit. Zhytomyr, it is different, that our locations for training were located in the city: “Head of Chatskyi”, “Pyrih” and others. Rock climbers from different cities and countries know about these routes, but there is a kind of “zest” in Zhytomyr. It is hard to imagine that in ten minutes of walking from the center there are completely isolated from the city bustle of the rocks. Passing the Peremohy Square and the Cathedral of the Transfiguration – a noisy, hollow district of the city – go to the Church of the Intercession and find a climbing wall, which is commonly referred to as “Rock in the Archives.” The name is simple – such a pointer, because there is an array next to the regional archive.
Kyiv citizens are coming to the “Archive” (it is extremely convenient for them: buses stop from Kyiv on Victory Square), and it is easy for Zhytomyr citizens to get there. The eighteen-meter rock will stir even those who have no mountains. It looks amazing and features unique. The local array is impressive with its almost vertical relief, color and size, and experienced sportsmen and beginner lovers can train it. Although this is not the only place for training in Zhytomyr, its attractiveness is that you can come here even in the evening after work.
This “exclusive” was opened for us by Mrs. Tetiana Kovaliova with her little friends. Once Tetiana and Serhii Kovaliov punched the climbing tracks in the Crimea, and a couple of years ago they returned to Zhytomyr and started repairing the broken but ignored routes, which are now being trained by our new friends.
Who loves the mountains will understand: it’s forever. They have taken on their own initiative this painstaking and important work. Who for? At first, they did not understand much, but they tried. It turned out that the followers and connoisseurs “stretched”. In the meantime, tracks with different names are ready for training: “Hail Bopp”, “Spit bug”, “Parsek”, “Masiania”, “Nutcracker”, “Pospishaika”.
The level of difficulty is also different. The simpler the route, the more funny the name is. You will fly on an easy route. And who are you after? Clear, cunning beetle! Eighth-year-old Sergei, sisters of Daniel and Gabriela, Nastia and Dima, whom she teaches to Mrs. Tatiana, are extremely cool! “Get out of there, you will fall,” “carefully, there is high” – the standard phrases that accompany almost every child.
Only from our new acquaintances such words do not exactly need to speak: they themselves know well where to be careful. Serious, well-balanced, skillful, like adult athletes, though the eldest are about fourteen. They have already learned how to handle the whole set of equipment, they can fix the carbines; insure their mate and much more.
They understand that much depends on how well they have done this or that job. You can rely on them, they have something to learn. “If you reach the middle, it makes no sense to go down,” one of the girls remarks philosophically. At least you realize that at half-way it seems senseless, but the beginning of the case must be brought to the end.
To this and our Zhytomyr “rocks on the archives” are taught – a place of strength and endurance.
